Guideline for handling the Nendoroid Series

【１】Introduction

Thank you for your continued support of our Nendoroid series (“Nendoroid Series” refers to all products that include “Nendoroid” in the product names. The specific products covered by this guideline are as described in Section 2【Products covered by this guideline】).

Since the release in 2006, the Nendoroid series has been loved over the years. We hope that the Nendoroid series will continue to be a beloved brand for many years to come. However, with the expansion of the brand, we have been receiving a variety of inquiries.

Customers are free to use and handle the products they have purchased for their personal enjoyment. Meanwhile, the Nendoroid Series is protected by copyrights, trademarks, and other legal rights owned by us and the third parties(“Licensors”) who have granted us permission.

In light of the situation, we have prepared this guideline to ensure that our customers can enjoy the Nendoroid series with peace of mind. We will take your feedback into consideration and continue to update this guideline from time to time.

*Activities in violation of this guideline prior to the establishment of this guideline are not applicable to this guideline, unless they directly infringe on the legal rights of our company or the third parties.

As an exception to this guideline, works and creations that have been granted the one-day permission by the copyright owner and our company can be used within the scope of permission policy.

【３】Fundamental

Most of the Nendoroid series products have been licensed by the licensors for commercialization and sales. Therefore, any decisions(including the right and wrong of reselling or customizing) regarding the main body of a Nendoroid or its optional parts must be made by the licensor on a case-by-case basis and we are not able to answer.

The Nendoroid series that are manufactured and sold with the licensors' permission are therefore not covered by this guideline.

【４】Handling of Nendoroid series (*1) to which only Good Smile Company owns the rights

Nendoroid series, such as part of the Nendoroid Doll and Nendoroid More products, for which we have sole rights may be used freely, including for customization, as long as the conditions listed below are met.

(*1) Products whose “Series” written on the product page matches the product name listed in session [2] Products covered by this guideline. [e.g., Series: Nendoroid Doll]

• Creation, publication, and exhibition of artwork by individuals or non-corporate organizations
• The activity is part of a hobby and does not aim at making economic profit
  
  

【５】Sales activities for customized Nendoroid series

Only the following “products allowed for customization and sales” can be customized and sold. We hope that you will enjoy those activities within the scope specified below.

• Conducted by individuals or non-corporate organizations and it does not aim at making economic profit

Nendoroid is a registered trademark of Good Smile Company. The use of the word “Nendoroid” in any product name during sales activities is an infringement of our trademark rights. Please refrain from using “Nendoroid” in your product names.

Products allowed for customization and sales (to be updated)

• Nendoroid Doll: Customizable Head series
• Nendoroid Doll archetype series 
• Nendoroid Doll Customizable Face Plate series
• Nendoroid Doll Doll Eyes series

Notes regarding sales activities

• The use of brand name “Nendoroid” in your product names is prohibited.
  
• Please be careful not to use any description that may mislead buyers to think that the product is from Good Smile Company.
• We are not responsible for any transactions between customers.

【６】Regarding the sales of original costumes and parts compatible with the Nendoroid series

Customers have the right to mention in the product description that it is compatible with the Nendoroid series when selling parts such as “original costumes” and “original eye parts”, as long as the product is originally created by the customers themselves and is not a reproduction of any of our products.

• The use of brand name “Nendoroid” in the product names is prohibited.
• Please be careful not to use any description that may mislead buyers to think that the product is from Good Smile Company.

【７】Other permitted acts

• Using the Nendoroid series for model wearing or for size comparison when creating or selling original costumes or parts (*2)
• Selling or transferring(with compensation) a one-off doll that is combined with the products allowed for customization and sales that have been customized in accordance with this guideline, your original costume and parts.

(*2)Please be careful not to use any description that may mislead buyers to think that the product is from Good Smile Company.

【８】Prohibited Matters

Please refrain from any of the following actions.

• Publication, display, or sale of the customized parts in a manner that may cause them to be misidentified as Good Smile Company products.
• Publication, display, or sale of a specific Nendoroid series product that has been entirely customized. (*3)
• Publication, display, or sale in a manner that may mislead the public to think that you have received permission, sponsorship, or collaboration from Good Smile Company, while in fact you have not.
• Acts of recasting (or duplicating) heads, archetype bodies, parts, etc.
• Acts that may damage the image of our company and the Nendoroid series.
• Radical or unethical expressions or behavior.

Other behaviors that we deem inappropriate may be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

(*3)e.g. Create, display or sell a different color version of "Nendoroid Doll: Emily". 
➡This is prohibited due to the risk of being misidentified as a Good Smile Company product.

Please contact our customer support team for inquiries regarding this guideline. In order to avoid confusion, we will not respond to your comments, requests, or questions individually, but will update this guideline if necessary.

【１０】Conclusion

This guideline is subject to change as necessary without prior notice. We will not be responsible for any damage or loss incurred due to such changes.

Please refrain from commenting on violations of this guideline among customers. If you are aware of any activity that may violate our guideline, please contact our customer support team. If you have no alternative but to directly contact the person involved, please simply inform the person of this guideline.
